The sea kayak programme, brought to you by Roam Outer Hebrides will feature a Sea Kayak Journey for beginners, a Wild Camp-and-Cook on the Isle of Taransay (weather permitting) and a discovery paddle in East Loch Tarbert from either Tarbert or Scalpay Pontoon. An expedition talk and film will round off the events on Friday evening.

Sea Kayak Journey

Thurs 25th July  - 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

£60pp, 12 tickets available

This trip is ideal for beginners or those with less sea kayaking experience. We will venture out from Tarbert (East Loch or West Loch) at a leisurely pace, getting everybody up to speed with basic paddling techniques. We will stop off at a secluded beach or cove for tea and a snack before making our way back. All equipment is provided, but if you have your own wet suit, please feel free to bring it. 

Discovery Paddle


Fri 26th July - 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

This trip will involve a leisurely paddle in East Loch Tarbert from either the Tarbert or Scalpay pontoon.

Paddle out to the Isle of Taransay in West Harris and enjoy a night under the stars on the 'Castaway' island. A light supper and breakfast will be provided. Sleeping mat, bag and tent can be provided for an additional charge.
